I received my B.A. degree in Art, with Honors, from the University of California, Berkeley. While there, my emphasis was on improving my fine art skills in painting, sculpture, and drawing, as well as learning video editing and web design. Previously, I attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco and Diablo Valley College (where I earned my A.A. degree). There I learned graphic design along with the latest computer programs. During that time I also continued my lifelong love of photography. Due to advances in technology, I have slowly moved out of the darkroom /artist's studio and into the electronic studio of the computer. The result is that I now create using my skills in both fine art and digital design. Prior to earning my degree while living in California, I had done fine art and photography while living in East Hampton, New York. There I studied sculpture with Florence Dykestra and painting with Connie Fox (the Art Barge). While there, I was a member of the Southampton Artists and the Jimmy Ernst Artist Alliance. I was encouraged and inspired by my fellow artists. One important artist I met was sculptor Elizabeth Strong-Cuevas. I was profoundly inspired by her life and artistic vision. This helped me decide to move to California to pursue my own artistic vision. So, after living ten years in New York I decided to move to California. There I attended college (explained above) and was a member of the Lamorinda Arts Alliance. After ten years of living in California and shortly after graduation, I moved to Hawaii. There, I was a member of D.A.S.H. (Digital Art Society of Hawaii) and worked in web and print graphics. I am back home in New York now where I manage art production at a travel publishing company. When not traveling, I enjoy spending time in nature. And I recently took up running long distance and completed both the New York City Marathon and the Hamptons Marathon in 2007.
